Santa Paula City Council to Consider Police and Fire Department Enhancements Thursday
The Santa Paula City Council is meeting on Thursday December 2 to consider
enhancements to the Police and Fire Departments, in the aftermath of the
failure of Measures J and K. Staff is proposing that that the City hire
three new Fire Captains and two new Police Officers. In order to do this,
the City will need to make budget reductions or enhance revenues totaling
$505,000. In order to accomplish this, I have proposed a plan which
includes eliminating 3.5 positions and reclassifying 2 positions. The
positions to be eliminated are Information Technology Assistant
(Administration) which is currently vacant; Accounting Technician (Finance)
and a Maintenance Worker III (Public Works). The positions to be
reclassified are a Maintenance Worker III to Custodian and a Senior Planner
to Associate Planner.
