Councilmember Fred W. Robinson was elected in 2008 and is serving
his first term on the City Council. Robinson is Chief Executive
Officer of The Arc of Ventura County. Robinson represents Santa Paula on the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance.
Vice Mayor Robert S. Gonzales Council Term Expires: November, 2014
Councilmember Robert S. Gonzales was elected in 2006 and is serving
his second term on the City Council. Gonzales served as Mayor in
2008.
Gonzales is a lifelong resident of Santa Paula and served for 30
years as a member of the Santa Paula Police Department. Gonzales
represents Santa Paula on the Ventura Regional Sanitation District
Board of Directors. He retired as Chief of Police in 2005.
Councilmember Richard “Rick” C. Cook Council Term Expires: November 2014
Councilmember Richard C. Cook was first elected to the City Council in 1998, and was re-elected back to the Council in 2010. Cook previous served as Mayor in 2006. Cook is a
lifelong Santa Paula resident and retired as a member of the Santa Paula Police Department and the Ventura County Public Defender’s office. Cook represents the City on the
Ventura County Air Pollution Control District Advisory Committee.
Councilmember Ralph J. Fernandez Council Term Expires: November, 2014
Councilmember Ralph J. Fernandez was elected in 2006 and is serving his second term on the City Council. Fernandez is a lifelong Santa Paula
resident, is an architect as well as an instructor at Ventura
College. Fernandez represents the City on the Ventura County Transportation Commission.
Councilmember Jim Tovias Council Term Expires: November, 2012
Councilmember Jim Tovias was elected in 2008 and is serving his
first term on the City Council. Tovias is an agent with State Farm
Insurance. Tovias represents Santa Paula on the Economic Development Collaborative - Ventura County.
